2021 48 Hour Film Festival
THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS
Seven teams of creatives, seven short films, seven sins
THIS PAST YEAR HAS BEEN CHAOTIC.
We want to embrace the absurdity of making art in this virtual space, and create an opportunity for fun, exploration, and of course, a little chaos. Seven teams of writers, directors, actors, and editors will be randomly paired together to bring an original story about one of the seven sins to life. Cinematography and editing decisions will be up to the discretion of each group.
*We will do our best to accommodate those in different time zones-- more details to come

A CRASH COURSE ON THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS
The "disordered love for individuals" (Dante). An intense longing, an intense or unbridled sexual desire which may lead to adultery or other acts.
Overindulgence and overconsumption of anything to the point of waste.
An artificial desire and pursuit of material possessions more than one needs. Inspires hoarding and robbery or theft, as well as violence and trickery.
An "absence of interest" as it relates to mental, spiritual, physical or pathological states.
A failure to do things one should do-- evil exists when good people fail to act.
Uncontrolled feelings of anger, rage, and/or hatred. Wrath is often present in the search for vengeance. It provokes long-lasting feuds, misanthropy, and self-destructive behavior.
An insatiable desire for the traits, possessions, status, or abilities of someone else. Only pride weighs down the soul more than envy among the capital sins.
Dangerously corrupt selfishness; putting one's own desires, urges, and whims before the welfare of others.
Refusing to acknowledge one's own limits, faults, or wrongs as a human being.
